More words for ‘shit’ than consonants

The Rotokas language, best known for having one of the smallest consonant inventories in the world (only six, rivaled only by Iau) has ten different verbs for the act of defecation, depending on the species that’s defecating: when a human shits, it’s eeko or opoko; when a chicken does it, it’s pigo; when a pig does it, it’s rikoto or ritoko; when a dog does it, it’s tugisi; and when a rat or an insect does it, it’s tupi. Then there are the general verbs, which apparently can apply to any species: kou (considered vulgar), viki, and vitu.
